Active Ingredient: Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride
Moxif Ophthalmic Solution is indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains of the following organisms:
Aerobic Gram-positive bacteria: Corynebacterium species, Micrococcus luteus, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus haemolyticus, Staphylococcus hominis, Staphylococcus warneri, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Streptococcus viridans group.
Aerobic Gram-negative bacteria: Acinetobacter lwoffii, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae.
Other microorganisms: Chlamydia trachomatis.
Eye Drops:
Instill one drop into the affected eye three times daily for 7 days.
No drug–drug interaction studies have been conducted with Moxif Ophthalmic Solution.
In vitro data show Moxifloxacin does not inhibit CYP3A4, CYP2D6, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, or CYP1A2, suggesting minimal potential for metabolic interactions.
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivities
Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit outweighs the risk.
Although excretion in human milk is presumed, caution should be taken when administering to nursing mothers.
